Honey, I Shrunk the Circuit

In this talk, an overview of the emerging substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology will be given and illustrated through R&D demonstrators developed by the speaker including components, filters, antennas and even subsystems developed with academic, institutional and industrial partners. Furthermore, to extend the printed circuit board (PCB) capabilities, the alternative high-performance air-filled SIW (AFSIW) technology will be introduced and illustrated with some recent development, specially intended to address the new space industry needs.
