Remote Teaching Materials

Résumé :
A group of university teachers led by the Speaker has been working on various types of web-based education materials for many years. These materials are more advanced than a conventional series of static slides – they contain animations arranged into a menu system and the order of the topics can be built up individually according to the basic knowledge of the audience. The materials can be used both in lecture rooms and for distance learning, even a flexible “laboratory walk” is available on the net. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has set an exceptional challenge when using these materials for “Remote Teaching” and necessitated a somewhat different approach from the previous. Consequently, the teaching materials had to be extended especially for laboratories – requiring special laboratory-oriented web-tools to be developed, for instance, to enable the tutor to conduct students through a laboratory practice when only the teacher is really present inside the lab. Examples from the practical experiences are demonstrated during the lecture, providing ideas for remote laboratory work that could be an approach of the future.

Biographie :
Prof. Gabor Harsanyi
graduated in electrical engineering from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 1981 and received doctorate (dr. univ.) in Electronics Technology from the same university in 1984. Thereafter, he moved to the Microelectronics Company (MEV, Hungary) where he developed his expertise in hybrid integrated circuits and sensors. In 1992, he received his Ph.D. from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Since 1984, he has been a member of the research and teaching staff of the Department of Electronics Technology, Budapest University of Technology and Economics in various positions, and became the head of department in 2003. His main research topics are: reliability physics of high density electronics interconnection systems, sensors in biomedical applications. He has published two books: “Polymer Films in Sensor Applications”, and “Sensors in Biomedical Applications”, which became part of the basic literature in sensors. Dr Harsanyi conducted a large number of scientific and industrial research and development projects, published more than 300 papers and has more than 2500 citations. He was a regular tutor ofshort courses organized by IMAPS (International Microelectronics and Assembling Sisiety), IEEE and EuroPractice. He was also member of the Technical Programme Committee of IMAPS-Europe for several years and receiver the IMAPS Fellows Award in 1998 and he is a senior member of IEEE.
