HDR "Habilitation à diriger les recherches" DEFENSE of Davide BUCCI

Abstract :
This presentation will discuss my research activities since the end of my PhD thesis defended in December 2006. I will first describe my work at the LCIS laboratory in Valence dealing with ultra wide band radio frequency communication systems. Telecommunications were also at the center of my interests just after joining the IMEP-LaHC laboratory in October 2007. In particular, I will detail the hybridization between circuits fabricated by ion exchange on a passive glass substrate with an active substrate or with silicon photonics. In a second moment, I will discuss my work related to optofluidic sensors, in particular in photonic circuits on glass. I will present a system for measuring plutonium (VI) in nitric acid that can be used in the context of nuclear fuel reprocessing. In a third part, I will also detail a dissolved oxygen sensor fabricated in sol-gel thin film in collaboration with the LMGP laboratory. Furthermore, I will discuss the simulation work based on the RCWA/AFMM (Rigorous Coupled Wave Analysis) method and in particular its application to the study of micro-structured solar cells. Finally, I will conclude with the perspectives of my research activities.
